  • Hi.  We don't have History sections for the characters - yet.  There may be something like that coming in the future, but not at this point in time.  Therefore, I've melded the info into the Personal Background segment of the Character page.  Hope you're doing well.  Did you see the message about the possible stylistic change for the wiki?  I'd like to know what you think of it?  Angelle aka Luxartisan (talk) 09:10, August 7, 2015 (UTC)

  • Hi.  I noticed your comment about this character being the paternal grandmother.  I don't think it makes any difference whatsoever whether a grandparent is maternal or paternal in how much they care for a grandchild, at least not in the US.   And in this case, why would her surname be Tsunemori like Akane's father is she is the mother's mother and not the father's mother?  Is that variable in Japan?

    • In Japan, members under a household must own one surname.

It is possible that the father took his wife's surname.

That's an evolutionary biology thing. Maternal parents love grandchildren more, because they are sure the child is born to their daughter.

Sometimes grandparents invest more time to paternal grandson, because they have damn male preference.

In Japan it's not specified. But in my language it's totally different.

(I called my maternal grandparents as paternal grandparents. There's an "outer" world in a common calling of maternal grandparents. That's because my mother divorce with my biological father, and I follow the mother's surname. I haven't see my paternal ones for years.)

The total difference is that we should see Aoi's relationship with that man - not necessary son.

    • Amy, I don't doubt that in some cultures and in some families, there is a gender bias towards males, which is sad to see as it only perpetuates a dysfunctional and unbalanced societal mentality but that is something that wise individuals know and are working to correct wherever and whenever it occurs.  And, while it seems you sincerely believe that there's an evolutionary biological basis to maternal grandparents loving a grandchild more, there is no scientific basis for that belief unless that is what you are being taught.  Instinct determines certain behaviors and while science supports the theory of maternal instinct and paternal instinct, instinct is not the same thing as love - a complex human emotion determined by multiple factors including cultural expectations, upbringing and life experiences.

That's why I asked what the cultural perspective is in Japan.  Psycho-Pass is a Japanese story based on Japanese culture so we must base our wiki facts on that culture to the best of our ability.  This may be an entertainment wiki, but it should be an objective, intelligent and accurate wiki.  Can you site evidence for what you are claiming as Aoi's relationship to Akane's father?  If so, please cite it in the article.  If there is no evidence, we must revert the text back to its original form of son and paternal grandmother.  I'll check back on this in a day or two to give you an opportunity to verify.  If you wish to discuss this topic further, I remain open to do so in a forum.  Thanks.  Angelle aka Luxartisan (talk) 14:37, August 7, 2015 (UTC)at

    • I'd like to say, if you want accuracy, just leave "son/son in-law or son in-law/son" or remove her relationship with Shoichi.

If you want "let everyone feels that make sense",just correct it.

I say that because she bears no physical resemblance to shoichi.

      2 examples:

In NARUTO, the female leader, Kurotsuchi, she has grandfather onoki and father kitsuki. The narutopedia just don't specify onoki and kitsuki's relationship. They just say in Trivia, both is possible. (Onoki pass his leadership to his granddaughter.)

Another example in Attack on Titan. Mikasa Ackerman has a fair haired father, who in appearance she bears little resemblance to. It was noted at first that she is a "Asian" with her Asian mother's clan symbol. Later it's cleared that it was a intended confusion - to create mystery - she has father's ackerman blood, and mother's Asian blood - both give her the special power.

    • Anime/manga plays games all the time and I see your point; however, the examples you cite have the information provided in their stories or in some other official fan media, somewhere, correct?  Resemblance is not a strong factor because a child may resemble one parent more than another, or neither.  Therefore, without hard evidence, I feel it's best to keep Aoi Tsunemori listed as the paternal grandmother until such time as the evidence becomes available.  You are free to change it as often as you like, of course, but I hope you can let this one go as it is likely to be undone each time.  Angelle aka Luxartisan (talk) 18:04, August 9, 2015 (UTC)

  • Hi there.  I see the photos of who I guess are artists affiliated with the series?  We have an artists category so why not add them?  Angelle aka Luxartisan (talk) 17:58, December 23, 2014 (UTC)

  • Hi,

There's a "floater" in Photos.  Do you plan to use it  in some way?  If not, please peg for deletion or just let me know so I can remove it.  Thanks.  Angelle aka Luxartisan (talk) 17:23, November 23, 2014 (UTC)

Would you be able to translate that first line for me, if it's possible? It may tell us what Togane's Crime Coefficient is. Sorry if you're not the right person to ask this, I just assumed you knew a bit of Japanese.
