Chika Shimazu (島津 千香 Shimadzu Chika) is a young woman who is taken hostage by Nobuo Okura who tortures her with a knife and rapes her.

Shimazu is a female of average height and build in her 20's. She has gray eyes and long brown, wavy hair that falls past her shoulders. It may be speculated that she is sexually appealing from the comments made by Nobuo Okura, who tells her that he's always wondered what it would be like to be with a woman like her, suggesting that she was "out of his league" under normal circumstances.[1]

She is a young woman who got terrified during her ordeal. But eventually responds quickly to Akane Tsunemori's suggestion that she remains calm, thus demonstrating a level of self-control that eventually saves her life.[1]
Personal Background[]
On November 4, 2112, Shimazu is taken hostage by Nobuo Okura and witnesses the gruesome enforcement of her captor. By that point, her distressed mental state made her a target for enforcement action. While trying to escape the Enforcers, her crime coefficient soars to over 300 out of sheer terror. Her death at the hands of Kogami is prevented by Tsunemori, who disables the Enforcer with her Dominator because she sees Shimazu as a victim, not a criminal. Nobuchika Ginoza arrives and paralyzes Shimazu, thus sparing her life due to Tsunemori's intervention.[1] It is later reported that she is recovering in a mental care facility.[2]

Etymology[]
- The name Chika means "thousand" (千) (chi) and "fragrance, fragrant" (香) (ka).
- Chika's surname Shimazu means "island" (島) (shima) and "haven, port, harbor, ferry" (津) (tsu/zu).
Trivia[]
- During her abduction, Shimazu's crime coefficient goes from 110 to 162.9 to over 300 (when Kogami aims at her), and finally returns to a non-lethal number (when Ginoza paralyzes her).[1]
