He is neurotic and gets angry if someone accidentally moves the personal belongings on his desk. Though he likes Inspector Shinya Kogami, he often behaves in a defiant manner towards him, calling him "enthusiastic Gami-kun (熱血ぴよ噛くん)" as a way of demonstrating his irritation with Kogami's youthful passion. He even speaks to Kogami as if there is no difference between himself, a latent criminal, and the Inspector. And although he seems brusque, he is caring towards his younger sister.
